While D'Angelo Russell has been in the headlines because of the possibility of being traded ahead of the deadline, it now seems he will be part of the team, but there's some terrible news ahead of the LA Lakers big Thursday night.
The Lakers will be unveiling Kobe Bryant's statue this Thursday night moments before the game against the NBA reigning champions the Denver Nuggets, but according to Darvin Ham, D'Angelo Russell could not be playing. The good news is not that the point guard will be traded, but the bad news is that is a matter of health.
Darvin Ham says D’Angelo Russell had a “tune-up procedure” yesterday and was unable to practice today. When asked about Russell’s availability for tomorrow, Ham said: “We’ll see." With information via Lauren Jones of The Sporting Tribune.
D'Lo wasn't part of the practice but he was in the facility when the media came in, still, being questionable is bad news for coach Ham and the team as they will be facing the Nuggets and fans want a win to honor Kobe on the night of his statue's unveiling.
While D'Angelo Russell could miss tomorrow's game vs. the Nuggets, Cam Reddish could be back. Reddish has been listed as day-to-day. He will see the doctors tomorrow and be re-evaluated from there according to Darvin Ham per ESPN's Dave McMenamin.
