The Lakers started Jaxson Hayes instead of Wood and the center didn't take it well, now Ham has reacted to it

The Los Angeles Lakers once again have lost, this time against the Atlanta Hawks. Without Anthony Davis, coach Darvin Ham returned to experiment on his starting lineup, this time in the center position, as he used Jaxson Hayes, who almost hasn't had any playing minutes instead of Christian Wood.

Wood has been reliable for coach Ham and has shown what he is capable of, instead, Darvin had Hayes in the starting lineup as AD's replacement. Christian reacted to this by posting on his X account the simple but very telling: "Lol."

In 24 minutes of playing time, Hayes scored 6 points, 3/4 FG, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, and 4 steals with one block and -11 in the plus/minus. Meanwhile Wood in 22 minutes scored 9 points, 4/7 FG, 1/2 FT, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists with -4 in the plus/minus.

"Darvin Ham said he isn’t on social media and wasn’t aware of Christian Wood’s pregame “Lol” tweet. He said he wanted to keep Wood in his typical role and felt he had a solid game tonight. He added that lineups aren’t a “popularity contest” and are about what’s best for the team." Revealed NBA insider Jovan Buha.

The Lakers are a disaster and coach Darvin Ham is the one to blame

After the Hawks got a dunk to push their lead to 17 early in the third quarter, the Lakers called timeout and a couple of L.A.'s players are showing Jaxson Hayes the proper defensive positioning of where he should be protecting the paint. Coach Darvin Ham started Hayes who hasn't seen significant minutes for a long stretch of the season.
