According to a new report by NBA insider Shams Charania, trade between the LA Lakers and Atlanta Hawks could be happening as negotiations continue but depend on D'Angelo Russell as the traded asset for the purple and gold.

Atlanta wants to find a 3rd team to take on D’Angelo Russell to complete a Dejounte Murray trade with the Lakers, per Shams Charania.

“It centered around D’Angelo Russell, a 2029 first-round draft pick, and a pick swap I’m told. The hold up was that Atlanta wanted to find a third team for D’Angelo Russell.”

So a trade is on its from happening but depends on a third team wanting to make a trade for D'Lo. The Lakers point guard has been valuable for the team in the last five games averaging around 27 PPG which has the fans not wanting to see him go.

Lakers fans don't want D'Lo or Hachimura to get a trade

It won't happen but fans prefer Cam Reddish and Taurean Prince to be the trading assets instead of D'Angelo Russell who has been the best player on the team in the last five games while Rui Hachimura has been of great help despite his different injuries and setbacks.
