The Los Angeles Lakers started slow this Monday night against the Houston Rockets, but they were close until the second unit was on the court and the rookie Cam Whitmore entered the game to "destroy" the purple and gold by scoring 12 points in the last stretch of the first quarter.

After the first quarter, the Lakers were already trailing by 11 points and never were able to recover since then, and one of the players that got to shine was Whitmore, who curiously the Lakers passed on in the 2023 NBA Draft.

Rob Pelinka and the Lakers front office went to select Jalen Hood-Schifino who is a young promise with a lot of talent but isn't helping the team this season and coach Ham isn't giving him minutes to develop in the NBA. Unlike Withmore who has been helping the Rockets and was able to make a difference to beat LA.

In the post-game interview, Cam revealed that he believes LeBron James is the best player the game has ever seen, it would only be great to have both players in the same team. Whitmore said: “That is the greatest player to ever touch a basketball.”

Darvin Ham revealed the use of Taurean Prince in the starting lineup

“Not really. I think it’s just the way things have shaken out,” Ham said. “Taurean has been one of our most durable guys and one of our better 3-point shooters. With LeBron and AD playing the brand of basketball they play, even this morning we were showing a clip where AD was playmaking from the post and had three guys on him. So as much spacing and shooting that you can put around them, the better."
