This offseason the Los Angeles Lakers front office led by GM Rob Pelinka was fast to re-sign Austin Reaves for a four-year 56 million deal, it looked like they learned from their past mistakes. Especially their recent biggest mistake, letting Alex Caruso walk away from free.

The purple and gold could get good use of a player like Alex Caruso in their backcourt the team was recently reported to be interested in making a trade with the Chicago Bulls to bring Caruso back to LA, where he first came from in the NBA.

But the Chicago Bulls aren't the Lakers, it seems they are smarter business-wise as a recent report by NBA insider Jake Fischer has the Chicago Bulls wanting multiple first-round picks to consider parting ways with Caruso. They are happy with the guard and are hesitant to make a trade for him, now, they have revealed their price.

“Alex Caruso would mark a dream outcome for the [Milwaukee] Bucks, but Chicago has indicated the Bulls would need multiple first-round picks to even consider parting with Caruso, according to league sources, if Chicago even truly considers moving him at all,” wrote Fischer.

The Lakers are getting closer to trading for Hawks guard Dejounte Murray

This intel comes in light of a report from The Athletic’s Sam Amick that the Lakers have inched closer to making a trade for the 27-year-old. Murray has arguably been the second-best player on the Hawks so far during the 2023-24 regular season, behind only Trae Young. He has yet to sit out a game for Atlanta this season and is averaging 21.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game while shooting 46.8 percent from the field and 38.7 percent from deep.
