Is Dennis Schröder back to LA for a third stint? The reason he could return

One of the Lakers' many struggles this season has been the number of players being out due to injuries, with point guard Gabe Vincent being the player that has been missing games the most, as he has only been available for five out of the 45 games LA has played in the regular season.

With that in mind, and Dennis Schröder having signed with the Toronto Raptors in the offseason to have a bigger role only to see it being reduced, the front office led by GM Rob Pelinka and coach Darvin Ham could be thinking bring the PG back to LA for a third stint. With information via ESPN's Dave McMenamin:

"The Toronto Raptors have two players on their roster the Lakers have interest in as well, sources said: Dennis Schroder and Bruce Brown. Schroder was L.A.’s backup point guard last season before signing with Toronto for the full midlevel exception in the summer.

With the Raptors already completing a trade with the New York Knicks to acquire two ball-dominant players in RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley, Schroder could become expendable. And Brown was the Lakers’ top target with their midlevel exception in the offseason, team sources told ESPN, but L.A. got priced out, with the Indiana Pacers offering Brown a two-year, $45 million contract."
