Another big loss the Lakers had this Sunday night, this time against one of the toughest teams in the West and their straight competition as Phoenix was standing in the 8th seed while the Lakers were the 9th seed in the Conference before the game started.

With the win, Phoenix now has climbed to the 6th seed while the Lakers stayed in the 9th position but are getting further away from climbing seeds before the regular season ends and are at risk of not making it to the playoffs or even the Play-In Tournament.

The Lakers have had the Suns' number in earlier matchups this season, but Phoenix looked comfortable in this win. Kevin Durant spoke to the media afterward and identified the key strategies that led to this win. Shows the Sun's head coach Frank Vogel is superior to the Lakers' Darvin Ham who continues to lack in-game adjustments.

"We got to make teams pay for selling out trying to stop me and Book. I think that's what the Lakers did and they had success early on. We were missing guys. They tried their hardest to take the ball out of our hands and make our lives tough. Guys came through today and made them pay for it."Said KD.

Ham's lack of planning on Anthony Davis's defensive skills affected the team

Durant further zoned in on some poor defensive decisions from Anthony Davis which led the likes of Jusuf Nurkic to have a big game. "AD seemed to be leaving Nurk's body a lot to come and contest, which gave us a little Ysomething. I heard AD screaming to his teammates, 'You got to help me, you got to help me' cause he trying to track me and Book wherever we went... They're gonna put some much pressure on trying to stop us and forget about the rest of the team. We got to take advantage like we did tonight."
