The Los Angeles Lakers had the unveiling of the first Kobe Bryant statue on February 8, 2024, everything in appreciation of who is considered to be the greatest Lakers player of all time over Magic Johnson, LeBron James, and more.

All kinds of legends of purple and gold and the NBA were present, even athletes of other sports and overall celebrities from Hollywood actors, international pop stars, etc.

"Kobe meant so much to everyone," said Pau Gasol who is one of the most famous teammates of Bryant and a close friend. Kobe and Pau won two back-to-back NBA championship titles. Gasol became the best teammate for Bryant like Shaquille O'Neal was in the past.

Other Lakers legends like Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Phil Jackson, and many more were present at the unveiling of the statue, with current players enjoying the moment as many had Kobe as a role model growing up watching the NBA.

Pau Gasol can't forget his friend, shared a Kobe Bryant quote

In recent days, Pau Gasol posted on his X official account a famous quote by Kobe Bryant, showing he keeps his former teammate and friend close to his heart. The quote that Gasol shared said by Kobe reads: "If you really want to be great at something, you have to truly care about it. If you want to be great in a particular area, you have to obsess over it."
