Kobe statue is finally here, Vanessa Bryant reveals the reason behind the pose

The LA Lakers have revealed the first of three statues of Kobe Bryant and Vanessa spoke about the pose of the first one

In what became an emotional moment filled with pure purple and gold bliss between many Lakers legends, the moment that most LA fans have been waiting for finally occurred, the statue of one of the greatest players of the sport was revealed.

In an eventful afternoon, there were many revelations, as there will be three statues of the Lakers legend, the first one was revealed today with the pose of Bryant walking off from the 81-point game he had. The statue has Kobe wearing his number 8.

The other two statues will have one, Bryant wearing his number 24 and the other alongside his daughter Gigi Bryant. Also, Vanessa Bryant revealed: “For the record, Kobe picked the pose you’re about to see. So anyone who has any issues with it, tough shit.”

“Leave the game better than you found it. And when it comes time for you to leave, leave a legend," Kobe's quote was said to close the unveiling of Bryant's first out of three statues that will be hanging outside the Crypto.com Arena.

Several Lakers legends were present for Kobe's statue unveiling

Despite many LA Lakers players on the current roster, different purple and gold legends were present for the ceremony including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Pau Gasol, and more. In the ceremony, Vanessa Bryant, Phil Jackson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Derek Fisher, and owner Jeanie Buss took the stage to speak about Bryant.
