The Los Angeles Lakers are set to have at least a trade that can make them contenders for the NBA title this season, at least in the backcourt as Gabe Vincent has only been available for 5 games in the first half of the campaign.

Many reports and rumors have linked the LA Lakers with players like Dejounte Murray, Zach LaVine, and even a return of Alex Caruso, but nothing has happened and many believe it to only be smoke.

When asked about the need the Lakers could've to turn the season around, LeBron James was clear, he is focused on the current roster as it is: "I don't play fantasy basketball. What I do is focus on the guys that are here in this uniform and show up to work every day.

It's too disrespectful to be thinking about what we need or what we don't have. I don't do that to my teammates. We've been putting in the work and that's what we got to continue to do. We like the way we've been playing the last couple of games. We got to continue that Friday versus Brooklyn."

The Lakers core is happy with the current team's roster

Unlike the narrative of the Lakers looking to need a big trade with many players leaving, the current team's core is happy as they are as expressed by Jarred Vanderbilt, Anthony Davis, and now D'Angelo Russell. “We’re just a deep team, so being able to utilize all the guys is our special power,” D’Angelo Russell speaks on the importance of team production and finishing strong before the road trip coming up.
