The Los Angeles Lakers had a blowout loss against the Houston Rockets, an embarrassing game after what they were able to show against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night.
Being the first leg of a back-to-back, coach Darvin Ham failed to give resting time to his stars as LeBron James played 30+ minutes without any reason for it while Anthony Davis played 30 minutes.
D'Angelo Russell, LeBron, and AD were the only three players that wanted the win, the rest of the team was nothing to be found and the Houston Rockets rookie Cam Whitmore destroyed them, especially in the first half of the game.
This performance by Whitmore, who was the 2023 NBA Draft No. 20 pick for the Rockets makes the Lakers fans wonder why Pelinka and the front office bet on Jalen Hood-Schifino instead.
The main reason Pelinka didn't select Whitmore and other NBA teams, the reason why he was projected to be pick No. 8 and feel to 20 were his knees and rumored to be difficult to deal with. Plus Ham wasn’t gonna play him regardless. The Lakers don’t play rookies... we develop them but he wasn’t getting playing time… especially with Darvin. He won’t even play Hayes or Woods much.
