The Los Angeles Lakers are showing blind trust in coach Darvin Ham and in how they built the current roster, also are hoping for an impactful return of players like Jarred Vanderbilt but especially point guard Gabe Vincent who has been available only five games in the campaign so far.
The Lakers were active in seeking deals in the days leading up to the deadline and determined any feasible trade would be a marginal upgrade, at too steep a cost.
So now, GM Rob Pelinka is turning the page on the NBA's trade deadline and focusing on the buyout market where they will be able to offer more money than other teams in the league from a saved portion of MLE.
One buyout target in the market is Spencer Dinwiddie according to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic. But other teams interested in the player are the Mavericks, Pelicans, and Philadelphia 76ers.
The Los Angeles Lakers will have three first-round picks available to trade come draft night to make a run at an All-Star caliber player this upcoming summer. GM Rob Pelinka is already thinking for the team's next season.
