By James Brown
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has been in the league for 21 years and he has shown his greatness on and off the court for that long time, where he has been able to cement himself as one of the best players ever and an excellent role model without any scandals, always being the focus, a family man and now it seems a great friend.
James started his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and during his time in that NBA franchise, he was close to the Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel who has revealed he suffered from depression.
Johnny Manziel says LeBron used to text him every week to hang out and play poker, per Shannon Sharpe's show Club Shay Shay. “I was so depressed that even the biggest role model in my life couldn't get me out of bed.”
LeBron tried to be the best friend he could with Manziel, showing he has always been a great person. Any teammate that James has had is always speaking great things of him and also the superstar has always been a great mentor to the younger players.
“I don’t know, because when I came into the league, I didn’t look at myself as the face of anything,” LeBron noted. “I didn’t look at myself as the next Michael or the successor to Michael. When I came into the league, the first thing that I thought about was I have to start over now."
