Between the Los Angeles Lakers' struggles in the season, LeBron James' apparent growing frustration, cryptic messages, injuries, and all kinds of rumors and drama inside the team's organization and locker room, there have been rumors of LeBron James possibly being traded.

Despite recent word by Rich Paul of a move not happening in this trade deadline, with LeBron soon becoming a free agent, a trade could happen in the offseason, and NBA insider and writer Bill Simmons from The Ringer has a bold trade proposal for the Lakers and Warriors.

“There’s a trade I really love, and it won’t happen,” Simmons said. “But the most fun trade for basketball is if he gets traded to the Warriors, and it’s Kuminga and Klay and maybe some pick swap down the road. And it’s just, ‘We’ll take LeBron for three months, and then he can declare for free agency.’ Klay gets to go back to the Lakers — his dad played there. And the Lakers get Kuminga out of it.”

Lakers fans shouldn’t be expecting the team to deal James before the trade deadline, which is slated for Feb. 8. But at the same time, a trade package of Thompson and Kuminga would give the Lakers one of the best shooters of all time along with a young and talented prospect who the team could build around for years to come.

The Lakers need to address Jarred Vanderbilt's injury at the trade deadline

Despite reports having the Lakers wanting to make a move for Dejounte Murray or another guard, the team's plans have changed with the possibility of Jarred Vanderbilt being out for the rest of the season, or in the best-case scenario, for the forward to miss multiple weeks. Pelinka and Ham need to address trading for a defensive player ahead of Thursday NBA's trade deadline.
