The Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has been announced to be out for tonight's game against the Golden State Warriors. This is the worst news with the worst timing as the Lakers were just starting to trend in the right direction.

The purple and gold will be truly shorthanded with six massive absences as Christian Wood is also out for the game against the Warriors. LeBron James and Wood are joining Max Christie, Cam Reddish, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Gabe Vincent as players who won't be playing later tonight.

At the All-Star weekend, LeBron James spoke about his and the team's injuries situation. "The most important thing for me is definitely my health, where I'm at right now, where our team is leaning," James said. "We're trending in the right direction.

"Obviously, with our Laker team, it's been about health all year. Trying to do what's best for me for the betterment of the team." It was a significant endorsement by James for his team, which has won six of its past seven. It was only a couple of weeks ago when he was posting a cryptic hourglass emoji to social media in the middle of the night and saying he didn't know what he would do with his player option for the 2024-25 season -- which will be his 22nd in the league.

LeBron James wants to continue being a Laker

"I am a Laker and I'm happy and been very happy being a Laker the last six years and hopefully it stays that way," James said. "But I don't have the answer to how long it is or which uniform I'll be in. Hopefully [it] is with the Lakers. It's a great organization, so many greats. But we'll see."
