Despite the reports and rumors having cool off for a moment following the outstanding performances D'Angelo Russell had in the last ten games of the season, it have resurfaced after the loss to the Atlanta Hawks where Dejounte Murray gave a great performance.

Different NBA insiders then started to report that the Lakers were looking to resume the trading negotiations with the Atlanta Hawks, a team that wants Austin Reaves and not D'Angelo Russell but is willing to make a trade if finding a third team interested in the PG.

NBA insider from Yahoo! Sports Jake Fischer has recently revealed that Atlanta is confident in finding a 3rd team for D'Lo in the LA/Murray talks. The clock is ticking as we are less than a week away from the trade deadline.

According to Fischer, the Lakers are looking for expiring in Gabe Vincent trade talks. But all of this could change with the latest situation that has Jarred Vanderbilt out for several weeks due to an injury. Pelinka and the front office could now be looking to add a POA wing defender.

With Vando out, Dejounte Murray should stop being a priority

Many reports have Dejounte Murray as the front office's main focus ahead of the trade deadline, but with Jarred Vanderbilt's injury, the situation has changed. The Lakers have to go out and get a POA wing defender. DFS, Royce, someone of that style. That should be the priority now.
