Last year, in January 2023, the Los Angeles Lakers had a heated game against the Memphis Grizzlies, a team that is known to be in the middle of controversy because of their players, especially last season when Dillon Brooks was part of it.

Former NFL player Shannon Sharpe expressed remorse for his verbal altercation with the Memphis Grizzlies that occurred back on Jan. 20 of last year, when he was attending a Los Angeles Lakers game.

That incident made many Lakers fans show love and support to the now Sports Analyst in ESPN's "First Take." During his podcast Nightcap, Sharpe admitted that he regrets the Tee Morant confrontation at the Grizzlies vs. Lakers game in LA at the Crypto.com Arena where he was part of the celebrity row.

“It is what it is,” Sharpe said. “I’m wrong. I’m dead–. I was wrong. I apologized to the Grizzlies and Dillon Brooks. Honestly, that might have been one of the worst moments of my life. I should have let it go.” Sharpe got into a shouting match with multiple Grizzlies players Brooks, Ja Morant, and Steven Adams at the end of the second quarter. Security had to step in to restore order.
