In what was looking to be an interesting player with a lot of potential in the future, the Lakers signed for the 2022-23 season with a two-way contract the son of the Chicago Bulls legend Scotty Pippen, the young guard Scottie Pippen Jr. who went undrafted.

Jr. didn't have too many opportunities with the Los Angeles Lakers but did shine with the South Bay Lakers in the G-League and even became part of the G-League All-Star games and became one of the best players of the team during that campaign.

In the offseason, Pippen Jr. was waived from his two-way contract as the organization signed undrafted players from the 2023 NBA Draft but was brought back for the Summer League, he wasn't able to participate as he was out due to an injury.

Still, Scottie was able to stay within the franchise as the South Bay Lakers signed him back, but no longer with a two-way deal. His time with the purple and gold is now officially over.

With information via ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Scottie Pippen Jr's time with the South Bay Lakers has to come to an end: "Free agent G Scottie Pippen Jr. has agreed on a two-year, two-way contract with the Memphis Grizzlies, agent Erika Ruiz of Klutch Sports tells ESPN."

Fans believe Pippen Jr. will develop into a better player than JHS

The Lakers had the No. 17 2023 NBA Draft Pick and used it by selecting Jalen Hood-Schifino, but the fanbase doesn't have any faith in the young player despite starting to shine in the G-League with the South Bay Lakers. Many fans even believe Scottie Pippen Jr. will develop into a better player than now the Grizzlies will have thanks to this move.
