One of the weakest points for the Los Angeles Lakers has been in the backup center role, as Christian Wood has helped Anthony Davis but his defensive skills aren't what the teams need and Jaxson Hayes has been erased by coach Ham in the team rotations.
The Lakers need a size player, as Hayes hasn't been doing what the team signing him for. With Christian Wood working for the team, the front office won't be targeting a big profile center and an opportunity window could've opened now that the Memphis Grizzlies have waived Bismack Biyombo.
Many want Jaxson Hayes to be waived by the Lakers but with the center having a player option that seems to be a difficult decision for the team that could affect them in the next season.
If the Lakers want to sign Biyombo they would need to use their still available 15th spot. There could be better options for the team to pursue via trade, but they could sign Bismack as a free agent and see if he works with the team.
With what has been happening with the Lakers, D'Lo refusing to speak to the press in the last two wins for the team, and his playing time significantly reduced, many believe the point guard is about to get traded ahead of the deadline.
