The Los Angeles Lakers have another key game tonight against the Dallas Mavericks but despite coming from a great win over the OKC Thunder with coach Darvin Ham finally having some continuity with a starting lineup that makes sense, for most of it, the group is not going to have it easy.

While isn't confirmed, Luka Doncic could be back tonight to face the Lakers after missing the last 3 games of the Mavs, and despite the Lakers having some momentum starting to build, the recent history from both teams isn't on the side for the purple and gold.

The stat that should be worrying the Lakers team is that for LA's vs Mavs tonight, LA has lost their two previous matchups with Dallas this season by a combined total of 5 points. It was the loss to the Mavs on 12/12 that signaled the start of LA's nose dive after the IST win.

Many Lakers players have stated they believe they already have a roster strong enough to win the NBA title, tonight will be a good time to prove that statement before the trade deadline that is quickly approaching.

Anthony Davis knows tonight's game vs. Dallas is a must-win

Davis believes a win like that could contribute toward the momentum of the Lakers. “By building off this win. We have another team coming in on Wednesday, no matter who is playing, they’ve been a dominant team. Luka has been out a couple of games but I think Tim [Hardaway Jr.] had 42 and Kyrie [Irving] had 41 or something like that tonight. “But like I said, I think it starts with us defensively to make that push. When we’re defensive-minded and show what we can do defensively on the floor, we tend to win those games.”
