Jeanie Buss, the LA Lakers owner has stated in the past her desire to see LeBron James retired from the NBA as a player being part of the purple and gold franchise. That moment keeps getting closer as the superstar is currently 39 years old and playing his year 21 in the league.

LeBron James could become a free agent as the Lakers and the star have a 51 million option but could negotiate a bigger deal, and now that earlier today it was revealed the Golden State Warriors and Philadelphia 76ers pursued a trade for him at the deadline, things could change fast, especially with his son Bronny James potentially being part of the 2024 NBA Draft.

It seems that Jeanie Buss and the Lakers organization are willing to add Bronny James to their roster to keep LeBron for at least another season and make him happy. “The Lakers, per the high-ranking team source, are also willing to explore the notion of adding Bronny James next season,” Sam Amick, Anthony Slater, and Jovan Buha wrote. “This stance, the source said, is rooted in the reality that James’ happiness truly matters to the organization.

They will potentially have their 2024 first-round pick (depending on if the New Orleans Pelicans, as part of the blockbuster [Anthony] Davis trade, choose to receive that pick or defer to 2025) and have two second-round picks that could help to that end (the [Los Angeles] Clippers’ and the less favorable of the [Memphis] Grizzlies’ and [Washington] Wizards’ selections).”

It doesn't seem possible for LeBron James to move to another team, as he has settled himself and his family in Los Angeles, and having the spotlight he gets as a purple and gold he won't get that in another NBA franchise. Recent reports have LeBron wanting to re-sign with LA for at least another season.
