What Kobe and Jordan did that LeBron James doesn't care to replicate

LeBron James has been dominating the NBA for twenty years and is currently on his year 21 looking to be unstoppable even when he recently turned 39 years old. The Lakers superstar is often considered for many to be the basketball's GOAT even over Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, but for the vast majority, he won't be it unless he wins at least one more NBA title.

The late Lakers legend Kobe Bryant won five NBA titles during his 20-year-long career, and he played all of them with the purple and gold, becoming one of the most loyal players in the game. In the case of the Chicago Bulls legend, Michael Jordan, who often is called to be the GOAT, won six NBA titles during his career.

But despite what many in the NBA world could believe, the LA Lakers superstar LeBron James doesn't ruminate about overreaching the same number of NBA titles as Kobe and MJ in his career, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe.

“Anyone who thinks LeBron is sitting there chasing that ghost every night ruminating on, ‘Kobe has got five, Michael’s got six, I’ve got four,’” Lowe said. “That’s not apparently LeBron’s mindset. That’s what I’ve heard privately for a long time.”

LeBron James does want to win more NBA titles before retiring

Even when he doesn't want to chase those two basketball legends, the Lakers superstar keeps playing to win more NBA titles as he is a natural competitor and a winner. James has played 10 NBA finals, more than Kobe and Jordan did.
