Anthony Davis has been the best defensive player on the team but he hasn't been enough as other perimeter defensive players have been out due to multiple injuries. But the Lakers have revealed they want to help Davis more.
With information via Daniel Starkand of Lakers Nation: "We spoke with Darvin Ham, Max Christie, and Rui Hachimura at practice today and they all mentioned that helping Anthony Davis on the defensive glass was a focus in their film session. "All bad clips," Darvin Ham said of the film session."
The problem is, no matter how many film sessions they will watch, the issue can’t be fixed at the moment. Rui has never been a good rebounder and playing 3 or 4 guards against ‘BIG’ teams won’t solve the offensive glass either.
The Lakers front office and coaching staff refuse to see the center problem they have, and now that Christian Wood is out due to an injury and even rookie center Colin Castleton isn't available, the team faces a bigger problem.
Darvin Ham also said that Cam Reddish participated in practice today and they'll see how he feels in the morning before deciding if he can play against the Clippers. Gabe Vincent and Jarred Vanderbilt have not progressed to on-court work yet.
