One of the biggest narratives the NBA media has regarding the Los Angeles Lakers is the number of free throws the team gets and many not understanding the reason why it is that way.

Recently LeBron James said is because the team goes to attack the rim more than any other team and also complained about the game against the Phoenix Suns and not having enough free-throw calls.

The reality is that since January 1st, 2023, the Los Angeles Lakers have led the league, with a team free throw differential of +656. The team behind them is the Miami Heat, with +280. That's a +376 difference.

The Lakers need to continue this trend plus improve in other areas to become a serious contending team for the NBA championship title despite their early setbacks and struggles like injuries, rebounds, and 3-point shooting.

LeBron James isn't stopping as he continues to break all kinds of records

Not only last season LeBron James became the new scoring leader of all time, breaking the former record set by the Lakers showtime era legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, but he is also getting closer to becoming the first player in the league to score 40,000 points. James has broken all kinds of records and will continue to do so as he is currently in his year 21 and with this potential new deal will go beyond it.
