Jarred Vanderbilt missed the first 20 games of the season due to a left calf injury which prevented coach Darvin Ham from having continuity by not being able to use his best starting lineup from the 2023 playoffs and ending of the 2022-23 regular campaign.

The fans and NBA media have been harsh on Darvin as the head coach hasn't returned Vanderbilt to the starting lineup and kept Tauren Prince in his place, which is an attempt to have a better offensive in the team and surround superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis the best shooters of the group.

Vanderbilt was back but continued to struggle as he didn't look entirely comfortable or playing on his best level, but he finally has been able to be on his best game and recently said in the post-game interview of the loss to Clippers about having six offensive rebounds:

"Just putting that pressure on the offensive glass, trying to create extra possessions for the team." Said Vando. The forward has said he feels more comfortable and happy to be able to help the team as he is finally back on his best defensive game and has also helped on the offensive end. In 25 minutes vs. the Clippers, Vando scored 12 points, 4/10 FG, 4/4 FT with 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, and one block, which comes to show how key is his role in the defensive end.

Jarred Vanderbilt got praise for the Lakers' PG D'Angelo Russell

Jarred Vanderbilt on D'Angelo Russell's recent play: "He's just being aggressive... An aggressive DLo is good for everybody. We're gonna continue encouraging him to be aggressive."
