The time has come for this NBA future Hall of Fame player and former Laker to retire after sitting out the entirety of the 2022-23 season without finding a new team to play.
The former Lakers star Carmelo Anthony for the 2021-22 season has now announced his retirement from professional basketball and, by doing so, also shared that his legacy will continue with his son.
Melo is a close friend of LeBron James; the star signed with the LA Lakers at a request from the King, but the stint only lasted for a year, even when fans wanted the vet to continue and bring the experience to this season's roster.
Earlier in the year, Melo's son Kiyan Anthony faced LeBron James' son, Bronny James, in an epic high school game where the two superstars were present and remembered the time they met for the first time in the league. The future is coming, and two legendary legacies of the NBA will continue.
