The LA Lakers Summer League team now has two back-to-back losses, and that's not the only concern

Even when the team improved, the Los Angeles Lakers Summer League team again fell; this time, they lost against the San Antonio Spurs. The purple and gold fell for ten points, making this the second back-to-back loss for this team that once excited the fans, with the new rookies Jalen Hood-Schifino, and Maxwell Lewis being the two leading picks for LA this 2023 NBA Draft

Also, we could see more of the undrafted center Colin Castleton and the guard D'Moi Hodge, who were decent. Shifino did have some great minutes; his main problem is his terrible jumping shooting, which needs to improve ASAP to help the team.

Max Christie continues to be the best player on the court, showing that he is about to be too good for Summer League and ready to have a more prominent role in the NBA with Ham's team.

Despite all the improvement, the worst news is that, still, the team lost, and the Spurs didn't even have their best player, the 2023 NBA Draft No. 1 pick and expected soon to be the new NBA sensation Victor Wembanyama. The Lakers lost despite not facing Victor.

Colin Castleton has been the highlight right after Max Christie

Colin Castleton scored 18 points, eight boards, six assists, and four blocks against the Spurs. His passing, ball handling, and shot blocking is intriguing, and there is a path to minutes in LA, with only Jaxson Hayes backing up Anthony Davis at center. I would never project a UDFA to earn rotation minutes because it's setting such a high bar and so rare, but he's one to keep an eye on for sure.
