Even when the LA Lakers aren't looking to add a big name to their roster this offseason, according to recent reports that have GM Rob Pelinka focusing on building the roster for the new team with young talent and capable players but not big stars, the team was aiming to sign Chris Paul.
After the news broke, the Suns were waiving him but first got traded to the Washington Wizards in a deal for Bradley Beal, and now his final destination for the next season is the Golden State Warriors.
LA hoped to get him if Paul was waived and on a minimum vet deal, but now they will face him with the Warriors in the Western Conference.
The worst news that Paul gives the team is that instead of helping to win a championship the following season, the Warriors have become even stronger with CP3 alongside Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green if he decides to stay.
The Lakers will keep most of their roster from last season and have brought some young talent from the NBA Draft 2023, along with some undrafted attractive hidden gems prospects. Depth is the name of the game for LA in their intentions to win the championship title next year.
