There's one thing that the Los Angeles Lakers fans can't complain about about Austin Reaves and that is that the guard always brings his best effort and energy to every team, even when coach Darvin Ham has him glued to the bench and doesn't give him the role he deserves in the starting lineup.
Continuity was out of the window for Darvin Ham despite the best efforts of GM Rob Pelinka and the Lakers organization of bringing back the core of last season's roster with re-signings of players like Reaves, Rui Hachimura, D'Angelo Russell and extending Anthony Davis plus Jarred Vanderbilt.
Still, Austin Reaves has been the player who always is there to face the press and consequences despite being one of the few players who gives great performances Austin has been the only Lakers player who has played in every single game of this campaign, the only one that hasn't been out due to an injury and even had a flu game when sick.
Reaves didn't point any fingers after the team lost the two games of the back-to-back, instead sent a message for the team to give more to get the win next time: "The urgency should be there, and I feel like it has for the most part, we just haven't done enough to win."
Coach Darvin Ham's speech is incorrect, this speech should be when your team is down 1-3 in the NBA Finals, not when you're 17-17 after assembling a good roster and winning the first-ever In-Season Tournament.
