Austin Reaves had a breakout season with the Lakers in the last campaign, becoming the shooting starter and even the third-best Lakers on the roster, just behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis. In the first eight games of the season he has been struggling, but Reaves finally bounced back in the win over Phoenix.

Reaves not only surprised the NBA fans and his rivals in the past season, but even some of his teammates and former teammates as explained by Patrick Beverley on his podcast with D'Angelo Russell who was his guest of the podcast in the offseason.

For D'Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves surprised him and thinks the SG is a killer and even opened up about a time in Minnesota when AR almost cooked him off the dribble.

Pat Bev also shared what he saw in the Lakers room and on his time sharing the court with Reaves, as the former Laker believes that Reaves is a top 12 IQ guy in the league.

Austin Reaves had a coming-off-the-bench role for five games now

Coach Ham changed things after the blowout to the Houston Rockets so he decided to place Cam Reddish as the starter over Austin Reaves who had a great performance despite coming off the bench. Austin has been on the bench for five games now and the team has a 4-1 record since then.
