Following what they did with Louis King, the Lakers have done the same thing with the guard Quinndary Weatherspoon, there's a reason why

The Los Angeles Lakers have made a couple of moves that have the fans scratching their head, as two days ago the organization signed Louis King only to request waivers less than 24 hours after the official announcement.

When King was released, the announcement also had the signing of the guard Quinndary Weatherspoon, and now, less than 24 hours after the announcement, the LA Lakers official X account has released a statement saying he has now been released.

These couple of movements have been similar to other NBA moves by many teams. The two players will be landing with the South Bay Lakers, as the G League team has acquired the returning player's rights for both players.

Lots of these signings around the league right now, are exhibit 10 deals to get the player some extra money for joining the G League club, which will be the case here too.

Scotty Pippen Jr. also will be landing with the South Bay Lakers

The same move, but with more time inside the team happened regarding the young guard Scotty Pippen Jr. who is now in his year 2 within the organization.
