Date and opponent for the first game of the season are set

Day by day we begin to know the Laker's schedule for next season. Yesterday the rumor came out that the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks will face each other in a hypothetical game on Christmas. Undoubtedly the two most anticipated games of the year are the aforementioned Christmas game and of course the opening date. Well, the wait is almost over my dear Lakers fans as it has been announced when and against whom the Los Angeles Lakers will play on opening day.

The schedule for the Lakers will start quite complicated because according to Sham Charania; the Lakers will open the curtain on October 18 against the current champions, the Golden State Warriors, in a game that is expected to be very attractive. After all, in addition to being the current champions, it is expected that the Lakers already have Kyrie Irving or some other player. To this, we can add that Juan Toscano Anderson will face his former team and we cannot forget the great rivalry that exists between LeBron James and Stephen Curry.

This first battle of the season between the Lakers and the golden state warriors will take place at the Chase center. The Golden State Warriors will also be given their title rings before tip-off. Golden State Warriors won the Larry O'Brien trophy last season after defeating (thank God) the Boston Celtics in 6 games, being Stephen Curry who will lead the San Francisco team to their seventh championship and get the MVP of the finals.

It's been a while since the Los Angeles Lakers won a home opener despite even clinching the championship in the 2019- 2020 season. The last time they beat someone on opening day was in 2016 against the Houston Rockets when James Harden was still on that team and LeBron and Anthony Davis were not yet from Los Angeles Lakers. No doubt the start of the season for the Los Angeles Lakers could bode well should a win be achieved. 

Preseason

The Los Angeles Lakers will have a chance to tune up before facing the Golden State Warriors in the season opener. In the preseason they will face the Golden State Warriors themselves as well as games against the Sacramento Kings and the Phoenix Suns. It is worth mentioning that one of the best games of LeBron James'  last season and of his career in general, was against the Golden State Warriors when he scored 56 points in a game that the Los Angeles Lakers ended up winning in a surprising way because they did not have Anthony Davis and they were not going through a very good moment. We will have to see how both teams perform in the preseason.
