Dennis Schröder is one of the players that left Los Angeles that the team will really miss, even when the organization was able to sign the point guard Gabe Vincent who comes from playing the NBA Finals with the Miami Heat.

Dennis signed a two-year 26 million deal with the Toronto Raptors, and left, even when he was coach Ham's favorite player in last season's roster. Schröder helped the team, but many purple and gold fans weren't really excited about the many opportunities that coach Darvin gave him and were relieved with his exit.

But now that a new season is about to start, it seems that coach Darvin Ham has already picked a new favorite out of the current roster for the 2023-24 campaign: Christian Wood.

Coach Ham hasn't stopped praising Wood and vice versa, and the big man has revealed that he speaks with Darvin every day and the coach is helping him get in rhythm to get on his best level.

Christian Wood's role with the team

Christian Wood is set to have a key role on the team's offense and could play alongside the star Anthony Davis, replace him, or even team up with the other new Lakers big Jaxson Hayes.
