The Los Angeles Lakers have just become the first NBA team ever to win the In-Season Tournament, and they did it in the best way possible, being dominant from start to finish as they were undefeated for seven games straight.

LeBron James led the team as he wanted to win the money prize, not for him, as he is a billionaire and it doesn't make a difference for his fortune but for his teammates, especially the rookies including the two-way players.

Unsurprisingly, LeBron James became the Tournament's MVP as he was truly exceptional from the first game to the final against Tyrese Haliburton's Indiana Pacers who were also undefeated until the loss to LA.

LeBron had a new reward as the NBA MVP rankings have seen a shakeup once again with James and Haliburton joining the race for an award that has been dominated by two big men in recent years. These two centers find themselves at the top of the MVP ladder, which should come as a surprise to no one.

The new 2023-24 NBA MVP Rankings

Currently the rankings for the 2023-24 NBA MVP are with Nikola Jokic as the favorite to win it, again, then followed by last year's MVP Joel Embiid with the third spot being for the OKC Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who has surprised the league, then at the 4th spot Tyrese Haliburton thanks to his performances in the IST and in the 5th spot LeBron James who isn't the same athlete when he won the award before, but being almost 39 years old he is embarrassing the younger players as he continues to be as dominant as ever on his year 21 in the NBA.
