The Lakers SG has been having a great year and is about to be better even when the purple and gold aren't at the NBA Finals

It became the breakout season for the undrafted Lakers SG Austin Reaves; it has been a dream, as his life has completely changed in less than two years.

Austin was undrafted, only to be picked by the Lakers, thanks to their scouting that was able to perceive his raw talent. In less than two years, he has become an undisputed starter and even the third-best player, just behind the superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

But the good news doesn't end there for Reaves, as his salary is about to grow significantly; after earning less than 2 million per year, he is about to hit free agency and is set to command a 4-year deal worth between the range of 50 million to 100 million, and is expected to get that from the purple and gold and stay in LA.

Now, the cherry on top for Reaves in teaching those who didn't believe in drafting him, he has committed to play for the USA National Basketball team in the upcoming FIBA World Cup and even rejected playing alongside his Laker teammate Dennis Schröder in the German National teams as he is eligible for playing for them.

The Lakers have to re-sign Austin Reaves as a top priority

One of the top priorities this offseason for GM Rob Pelinka and Head Coach Darvin Ham is to re-sign Austin Reaves. And they are so serious about it that they plan to match any offer the SG receives as a free agent up to 100 million.
