The Lakers point guard was ready to play in the preseason finale vs. the Suns

In the last preseason game, coach Ham sent a five lineup that surprised everyone despite being a preparation contest as there was no real playmaker with Max Christie and Cam Reddish on the backcourt.

Now it has been revealed that Gabe Vincent was available to play in the game vs. the Sun but coach Ham and his staff decided not to use him.

With information, Mike Trudell reported: "Gabe Vincent said he could have played in the preseason finale if it were a regular season game, the team was just being smart about it and wanted to make sure he was 100%. “The back is feeling great,” he added."

While Vincent is back and ready to have his regular season debut with the Lakers, the same won't happen with Jarred Vanderbilt who is day-to-day and will miss the opening night game vs. the Nuggets.

Coach Ham revealed Jarred Vanderbilt is part of his starting five

This Tuesday, Coach Ham will use Taurean Prince as his starter, but apparently, Vanderbilt is the player who will have that role. Ham said that Prince would be the starter due to the team's particular circumstances.
