The Los Angeles Lakers were listed as one of the possible landing spots for the Milwaukee Bucks after the star gave a statement where he said that he could consider not extending with the Bucks if he feels they aren't a contending team.
The Knicks and the Lakers were the two top franchises to be linked to the star, which could sign him in the future, and now Giannis has given another statement that should bring him closer to LA.
Giannis spoke on his future with the Bucks in ESPN's 48 hours as he said "I'm a Milwaukee Buck, but most importantly I'm a winner. ... If there is a better situation for me to win the Larry O'Brien I have to take that better situation."
This makes Giannis closer to the Lakers as the NBA franchise has the better winning history by winning at least a championship title each decade. LA currently has a strong team that could pursue Giannis to sign once he chooses whether to continue or not with the Bucks.
As an assistant coach, Darvin Ham was part of the staff that became NBA champions with Giannis Antetokounmpo as the main star. Giannis has said Ham is one of his favorites, and their relationship could have them reuniting in the future in LA.
