It has been revealed that Lakers GM Rob Pelinka's plan of extending Anthony Davis has to do with LeBron James

The master plan de LA Lakers have by extending Anthony Davis has been revealed. It hasn't been a coincidence that the front office has made some eye-catching signings this offseason in the free agency market and the 2023 NBA Draft.

Pelinka and Ham are already planning on the franchise's future and the post-LeBron James era. While there isn't an actual date for James' retirement or a guarantee of his continuity in the team, Pelinka has already prepared for the time he isn't in LA anymore.

Anthony Davis will be the face of the franchise as said by Pelinka “AD understands that his commitment to being the hardest worker, combined with his high character, is what will help define our culture for many seasons to come.”

The Lakers are already looking ahead of LeBron James, even when they still want to keep him around as many seasons as possible, and also extending AD until 2028 could help the forward to choose to stay in LA.

The Lakers have a great mix of young promise and experience

This offseason Pelinka did a master job in bringing the perfect combination of young talent with rookies like Jalen Hood-Schifino, Maxwell Lewis, Colin Castleton, D'Moi Hodge, and Alex Fudge along with experienced talent like Gabe Vincent, Cam Reddish, Taurean Prince, and Jaxson Hayes.
