The 2023 NBA Draft is four days away, and some significant movements could be happening for the Lakers, including Malik Beasley

There's no secret that the Lakers SG Malik Beasley didn't meet the expectations set on him, as the player seemed to forget how to shoot 3-pointers the moment he landed in LA.

Beasley was almost immediately a starter, only to lose his spot in the starting five to Austin Reaves and had a coming-off-the-bench role, but in the playoffs, Lonnie Walker stole his role as a second-unit role player and became a bench warmer.

Patience has run over, as it has been said that the Lakers are planning to use Beasley and maybe Mo Bamba, plus their No. 17 draft pick to land a starter kind of player.

The latest rumor has the Lakers probably making a trade with the Indiana Pacers on draft night. The Lakers would receive Buddy Hield, rumored to sign with the purple and gold since the last offseason, and the No. 26 and No. 32 picks. Indiana would receive Malik Beasley and the No. 17 pick.

The reasons behind this possible trade in draft night

It's been no secret that the Lakers' front office has coveted Buddy Hield over the years. Since his time with the Kings and, most recently, with the Pacers, the sharpshooter has been linked to Los Angeles in what seems like a now annual tradition. After shooting just 33.5% from three in the postseason and seeing the opposition actively leave some of their players open, it's clear the Lakers are still searching for a more reliable shooting threat. This an area in which Hield remains among the league's best.
