The Los Angeles Lakers could be getting one of the most surprising superstars for the next campaign, as this offseason in the NBA is set to be shocking for every team.
It started strong with free agents like Fred VanVleet available in the market and the surprises of the Suns wanting to trade for the 38 years old vet Chris Paul and the Wizards for Bradley Beal.
The Lakers are interested in all three, but Chris Paul seems to be the closest to arrive in Los Angeles with the most recent proposal by Jason Reed of Fansided, who has the Lakers sending Mo Bamba, Malik Beasley, Max Christie, and two future draft picks to the Suns for Paul.
"If the Suns are actually considering waiving Paul and taking a salary-cap figure on the head for nothing, then they certainly would be willing to turn his salary-cap space into more depth to build around Kevin Durant and Devin Booker," Reed wrote. "The key person in this trade is actually Mo Bamba. If the Suns pull off a Deandre Ayton trade in which they save money, then Mamba could be a nice depth piece for the team to utilize next season. If not, the Suns can also get out of his deal (non-guaranteed for the 2023-24 season), saving $10.3 million in the process."
The reality is that the PG superstar has passed his prime, and it could not be beneficial two have two of your three superstars having more than 38 years old and the other one being propensity to get injured.
