The Lakers have Rui Hachimura and Austin Reaves as their top priorities and could be waiving or trading a player to keep them

The purple and gold front office has a long offseason ahead of them, as they need to secure several players of their current roster that will be hitting free agency and try to keep enough cap space to bring a couple of upgrades in key positions.

One player whose future is well up in the air is D'Angelo Russell, as the GM Rob Pelinka and coach Darvin Ham are still thinking of trading, releasing, or even wondering if they should keep him.

But in order to re-sign their priorities, Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura, Pelinka is thinking of trading D-Lo, as the PG failed to live up to the expectations set for him in the playoffs.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, "It starts with keeping the players they have (Rui Hachimura and Austin Reaves). Their number 1 goal is they're not letting either of those two out of the building. They are gonna match offer sheets for them or see if they can get to an extension. D'Angelo Russell - can they get to a contract number that makes sense for them? They got their exception. They can go out in free agency and get another player. The Lakers and Clippers will be prominent in that conversation (CP3). There's no big game hunting for this organization. You can't expect to have 3 max contracts and have any depth on your roster. It's going to look a lot the same, but think about a team next year that goes the entire season [with this roster]."

Lonnie Walker could be the first re-signed player

Not Rui Hachimura nor Austin Reaves; according to a tweet posted by the Lakers SG Lonnie Walker, he could already be re-signed for the next season. Walker IV posted, "Life is good," immediately making the fans assume he was the first player to be re-signed by LA for the next campaign.
