Last season, coach Darvin Ham's use of Dennis Schröder created controversy, with the PG no longer on the team, another player could get that spot

In the NBA is expected for head coaches to have some players as their favorites, last season for the Lakers coach Darvin Ham was the German point guard Dennis Schröder, who was key to the team's success in saving the season and making it to the Western Conference Finals, but not always his use was met with enthusiasm.

There were moments when other players were on a better level but Ham insisted on using Schröder when he wasn't giving a good performance to the point that fans wondered if there was a hidden reason why Darvin kept trust in Dennis that much.

Schröder is now with the Toronto Raptors after receiving a two-year $26 million offer he couldn't refuse and the Lakers moved in a new direction by signing the point guard Gabe Vincent with a three-year and $33 million deal.

In the first two games of the 2023-24 season so far, Gabe Vincent's games have left a lot to be desired to the fans, but coach Ham has given more playtime than other players that were critical for the team's last season like Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura.

Gabe Vincent vs. the Phoenix Suns didn't convinced the fans

With Austin Reaves playing a total of 28 minutes and Rui Hachimura 12, the fans were upset with coach Ham giving Gabe Vincent a total of  35 minutes coming off the bench and even closing the contest against the Suns, without a great performance, fans believe he is Ham's new Dennis.
