The LA Lakers are looking to build on what they were able to create in the season that just ended; after having a 2-10 record that looks to be a repeat of the previous campaign, the team made it into the Western Conference Finals, where sadly they got swept by the now NBA Champions the Denver Nuggets.
One of the players that arrived with the trade deadline with high hopes for him and ready to become a fan favorite and even an idol was Malik Beasley, who was supposed to help fix the 3-point shooting issue but became a disappointment.
At the end of the playoffs, Beasley became the third SG on the roster; Austin Reaves, the starter; Lonnie Walker, the 2nd unit option and Beasley, the bench warmer, now could leave to have his spot available for another SG.
The news just broke with the Washington Wizards looking to trade Bradley Beal, a player that the Lakers have been interested in, according to NBA Insider Jovan Buha. GM Rob Pelinka will have to pay around 47 million per year, as Beal has one of the highest contracts in the NBA.
"If Bradley Beal gets traded between now and next Thursday, I think people are going to be very surprised at the price and potentially how low it's going to be," said NBA insider Brian Windhorst. The Lakers have been looking for this kind of player for a long time.
