On different occasions, the former Lakers champion Dwight Howard, who has been in the team in three different stints, has stated how he wants to make a comeback to Los Angeles, as he felt that winning the NBA championship title, was unfinished business to win another one, but the organization waived him twice since 2020.
Howard wasn't able to find an NBA team and had to play in the Taiwanese Basketball league for the 2022-23 campaign, but now that he is a free agent again is looking to make a comeback in the league, but this time won't be with the Los Angeles Lakers.
While isn't a sure thing, Dwight Howard will be meeting with the Golden State Warriors this week and has other NBA teams interested on signing him as a backup experienced center.
For his part, Howard has been putting up the hard work to make himself ready for a comeback as he does want to win another championship title and help his future team with that. Meanwhile, the LA Lakers have moved on.
The Los Angeles Lakers GM Rob Pelinka earlier in the offseason, at the Summer League stated that the reason they signed Jaxson Hayes was for the young center to have the role Dwight Howard had in the 2020 championship season.
