The Los Angeles Lakers had a rollercoaster ride in the last season, as the team started with a 2-10 record which prognosticated another failure for the purple and gold, but the team was able to turn things around.

One player that was one of the most reliable began the season as a starter in coach Ham's lineups, becoming the bench for SG Malik Beasley.

Lonnie Walker then passed to be the third SG in Ham's rotation as Austin Reaves became the new starter and Beasley the 2nd unit shooter, but that changed when Walker received an opportunity in the West Conference Semifinals vs. the Warriors, where he proved his worth once again and became the 2nd unit SG.

Walker saved Game 4 for the Lakers when the Warriors were dominating, and now the team didn't have him in their plans, and now, as a free agent, he has agreed to a one-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. This after Lonnie Walker stated he had unfinished business with the Lakers, as he wanted to stay for at least another year.

The two absences that could hurt the Lakers in the next season

The Purple and Gold let go of Dennis Schröder and Lonnie Walker, two players that received critics, but when things were hard for the team, they were able to become the best player in some critical games and won them; their absence could hurt the team in the next campaign.
