The Lakers' new PG Gabe Vincent doesn't have an easy task ahead of him in the team's pursuit of a new championship title

The Los Angeles Lakers have signed the Point Guard Gabe Vincent this offseason in an attempt to reinforce the Guard's position, especially after what Gabe did with the Miami Heat in the recent playoffs.

The purple and gold have been struggling to find their right Point Guard, especially after signing Russell Westbrook, and while the trade that got Westbrook leaving LA for D'Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, and Jarred Vanderbilt was worth it, D-Lo wasn't able to take the team to the next level in the 2022-23 playoffs.

Pelinka and Ham wanted to bring back the team's core after making it into the WCF, and that included D'Angelo Russell but replaced Dennis Schröder by signing Gabe Vincent.

Vincent has a hard task ahead of him, to make the Lakers fans forget about Dennis Schröder, who was critical of making it to the WCF, and to 'steal' the starting role to D'Angelo Russell, especially in the potential playoffs.

What Gabe Vincent brings to the Lakers table

Gabe Vincent was a godsend for the Miami Heat in their run to the NBA Finals earlier this year. His defensive prowess is his calling card, and his offensive game has been steady since his start in the league a few years back. He may never fit the profile of an elite playmaker, but Vincent has the IQ to provide steady, mostly mistake-free minutes at the point to whichever team he plays for.
