Last season the Los Angeles Lakers had many players who weren't cut at the end of the campaign, and others became free agents this offseason but the organization decided to not bring him back.
The former Lakers center Wenyen Gabriel ended last season within the team's roster but became a free agent and was picked up by the Boston Celtics with an exhibit-10 deal, today he was waived.
Now, the former Lakers sharpshooter Matt Ryan has suffered a similar faith. Ryan saved the team last season when scored a buzzer-beater 3-pointer to send a game against the New Orleans Pelicans to overtime and then they won it in what became their second win of the season when things were getting ugly fast. This shot made him a fan favorite but it didn't last long.
Not much time passed when the Lakers decided to waive him, this offseason he got picked up by the Minnesota Timberwolves, and something similar happened to him after scoring in the last two preseason games for the team 16 points thanks to his 3 pointers, he has now been waived.
Via NBA insider Shams Charania: "The Minnesota Timberwolves are waiving wing shooter Matt Ryan and signing Daishen Nix to a two-way NBA contract, per sources. Nix averaged 6 points and 3.3 assists in preseason. Ryan scored 18 points on 6 3‘s over final 2 games."
