The Los Angeles Lakers made a trade for Rui Hachimura and gave Kendrick Nunn to the Washington Wizards, but according to GM Rob Pelinka, they are eyeing to get another trade done before the deadline.
And with the most recent news that Lonnie Walker IV was assigned to the South Bay Lakers, some fans were expecting the worst, but in reality, this is good news.
Lonnie is not being traded; he is staying in Los Angeles. Still, he hasn't been playing because of an injury he almost fully recovered from, and the reason for being assigned to South Bay is to get practice this morning as part of his return-to-play protocol.
Walker has been one of the best off-season pickups for the Lakers, as he has been a regular starter when healthy, alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Lonnie will be recalled to the Lakers after the practice.
Even when Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook have been the names rumored to be traded, the reality is that Damian Jones and Juan Toscano-Anderson could be the players set to leave Los Angeles soon, as they have been losing playing time. Additionally, JTA will see less action with the signing of Hachimura.
