The Lakers GM Rob Pelinka said they wouldn't be going for big names this offseason and want to run it back with most of the same team. Still, they will be doing some movements in the free agency market.
Many names have been rumored, but one that the Lakers fans are more excited about is a former Laker that could be making his return and has already won a championship title, but with the Milwaukee Bucks, alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and with Darvin Ham being part of the coaching staff.
Brook Lopez is the last good center the Lakers had, at least that's what the fans think, and now want him back to contend for the next season's championship title, especially now that the size center they had in Mo Bamba has been waived.
The team's second center option is Eric Gordon, who the LA Clippers declined to have the team option with him. Some believe the Lakers could not be signing a center as LA still has Wenyen Gabriel and Tristan Thompson and had just signed the undrafted rookie promise Colin Coleston with a two-way contract.
According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, "LAL could also elect to split the MLE and pursue multiple players with that $. PG Dennis Schroder, who had a successful season with the Lakers last year, and SG Eric Gordon, who was waived by LAC on Wednesday, are names they could target in that scenario, sources told ESPN."
