Giannis Antetokoumpo is one of the top 5 players in the NBA at the moment and has now shaken the league's rumor mill with his recent comments by opening the possibility of changing teams shortly.
The two-time MVP has expressed hesitancy about signing a contract extension to stay with the Milwaukee Bucks without a title commitment from them.
Giannis' statement could be a message to Milwaukee's front office to start acting, but the star has opened up the possibility to move to a champion contender and the current two top choices are the NY Knicks and the LA Lakers.
The NBA insider Marc Stein says “The Lakers and the Knicks are already being mentioned as franchises presumed to interest Antetokounmpo down the road if he does decide to move on from Milwaukee, which just made a slew of moves (re-signing Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez and replacing Mike Budenholzer as coach with Adrian Griffin) to try to appease its face of the franchise, You can be certain, if nothing else, that The Giannis Watch is back on and, like it or not, will thrust his future back to the forefront of the NBA discourse after just three seasons of relative quiet that must have elapsed quickly for Bucks fans.”
The Lakers HC Darvin Ham and Giannis won together the Bucks Championship title, and has been reported that Antetokounmpo loves Ham, which could make his arrival to LA a possibility. Plus, LA is already thinking about the post-LeBron James era, and having Giannis with Anthony Davis could make a great big duo.
